I purchased peameal bacon, when I got it home my wife noticed it was already a week old ! It was spoiled when opened. On the same visit to Hommers I purchased a brisket @ $3.69 per pound. Latter that day I was at Reds Meats in Thorold, and the brisket was $2.59 per pound. This was my last trip to Hommers I think they are highly over rated. The quality of the brisket from Reds is much better than Hommers as well.
I enjoy the fresh meat and great service
great meat and prices
Good products at great prices.
I've driven by one day and couldn't help noticed what a run down shed it was. I can't imagine what it looks like inside, or better yet what the meat taste like!!!! You know what they say about "first impressions"!!
First two cuts of spare ribs I got was good. Then I bought four more to my dissapointment found mostly bone, fat and grizle. There was very little meat.
Homers- what a great place! The people are friendly. They take phone orders and you freezer orders. I get everything Vacuum sealed for the freezer. They have incredible sausage. And if your having a pig roast- let me tell ya...the best little piggies around. Its worth the drive. Try the Delmonico steaks- they melt in your mouth!
I must say that from the outside you may be hestitant but once you BBQ a delmonico steak, peameal bacon or even their ribs... mmmm mmm mmm. Fresh meat that melts in your mouth. The prices are right, the taste is great and they are very convenient if you want something vacuum sealed for freezing! Try it out.
